Where is the festival located?

The festival is located along Central Avenue between MLK Boulevard and Vernon Avenue.

When is the event?

The festival is a one day event on Saturday September 21 from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

How much are tickets?

The Central Avenue Jazz Festival is FREE thanks to our generous sponsors and the Department of Cultural Affairs.

Is there a designated Uber or Lyft pick up/drop off area?

No. However, we recommend either Central Avenue at Vernon Avenue or Central Avenue at Martin Luther King Blvd.

I don’t want to drive or use RideShare. How would I get there by taking the LA Metro?

To plan your trip with LA Metro, visit Where to? – LA Metro or call 1-800-COMMUTE to find the best route. The closest light rail station is the Metro Blue Line Vernon Station.

Where should I park?

Festival parking is extremely limited and we recommend using Metro or RideShare providers to travel to the festival.

Festival Entry Policies

  • All artists and set times are subject to change
  • Bags and personal items may be subject to inspection
  • Tent and vendor hours may differ from the actual festival hours
  • We reserve the right to remove any person(s) who is disorderly and/or interferes with the enjoyment of the festival for other festival-goers.
  • Coolers and chairs cannot obstruct walkways.
  • The Central Avenue Jazz Festival allows only the service animals of disabled persons to enter the festival grounds. Service animal owners will be responsible for any damage or injuries that the animal causes. Service animals must remain with the owner at all times and must remain on-leash through the festival grounds.

  • Patience
  • Comfortable shoes for exploring all of the different vendors and activities that the festival has to offer
  • Clothes suitable for warm September weather
  • A good attitude and love for Jazz music!

  • Personal/ non-professional cameras to take photos with friends
  • Hats and visors to protect from the sun
  • Sunscreen
  • Reasonably-sized strollers
